What’s been going on . . .

2025 was a good year for painting and art happenings.

I participated in the Chadds Ford Elementary School 76th Annual Art Show and Sale in March 2025. It was a wonderful event, one day only, and the place was filled with artists and art lovers. I am participating again this year, March 14th, 2026.

I recently won third prize for my plein air watercolor “Honker Hill Barn and Vista” in the Art in Marshallton Paint Out in September, judged by DelArt Curator Margaret Winslow (appears in watercolor gallery). The best part was being with all the artists and the very cool people who founded and worked tirelessly at the event.

I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to Italy with a small group of artists where we painted each day for 8 days at Lake Como. Again, aside from the breathtaking landscapes and fabulous food, the people in our group were just the best. I came back with some fresh plein air works, and have been working on several additional pieces in studio. My first plein air piece, “Bellagio Waterfront Shimmer, Lake Como Italy” along with others, such as “Varenna Shining Village, Lake Como Italy” appear in the watercolor section.

In August, ABC News made a visit to Kuerner Farm for a community story with Karl Kuerner, focusing on Andrew Wyeth’s connection and influence there in conjunction with the recent Wyeth Kuerner exhibit at the Brandywine River Museum, and the ongoing plein air painting sessions at the farm (which I’ve participated in for last 3 years). I was one of the interviewees, among other fellow artists, and appeared in the news segment :)!

Last holiday season, I participated in 2 venues with original artwork, greeting cards and mini-framed prints:

Winterlight: An Art Show at the Farmhouse, was an intimate art show and sale with live music, cocktails and light apps inside the cozy DeCola Salon farmhouse at 6 Dowlin Forge Road, Exton, PA.

Yuletide Market at Nightingale Materials, had local art and crafts, where I had artwork on display throughout December.

We’re excited for the 2026, 77th Annual Chadds Ford Elementary School Art Show and Sale.
